Privacy

Your information, handled the way we handle everything else.

Plainly, carefully, and with no surprises. Last updated October 14, 2026.

Who we are

Legacy Matters Advisory Inc. (“Legacy Matters”, “we”, “us”) operates mylegacymatters.ca. We are a Canadian company and we handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law.

What we collect

  • Information you give us. Your name, email address, company, and anything you choose to share when you book a call, request the Pre-Flight Kit, email us, or take part in a diagnostic.
  • Business information. If you engage us or complete a diagnostic, financial and operational details about your company. We sign a non-disclosure agreement before going deep, and we treat this information as confidential.
  • Usage information. Standard analytics about how the website is used (pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location, referring site), collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use it

  • To respond to you, schedule conversations, and deliver what you asked for.
  • To prepare and present an Exit Readiness Assessment, and to deliver engagements you have agreed to.
  • To send occasional emails about exit readiness. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
  • To understand how the website performs and to improve it.

Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run the website and our business: Google Analytics for website analytics, HubSpot for our customer relationship management, email, and meeting scheduling, and Vercel for hosting. Each of these providers processes information on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website works without cookies. When you first visit, we ask whether you accept cookies for analytics. Nothing that tracks you loads unless you choose Accept, and you can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Your choice is remembered in your browser for 12 months. If you accept, cookies are set by the following services:

  • HubSpot (analytics and customer relationship management). Cookies such as hubspotutk, __hstc, __hssc, and __hssrc recognise returning visitors and connect website visits to enquiries. With your consent, HubSpot’s tracking loads after you interact with a page, or after you have spent some time on it.
  • Google Analytics (website statistics), where enabled. Cookies such as _ga measure how the website is used. Advertising features are switched off.
  • HubSpot Meetings (scheduling). The booking calendar is a service you ask for: it only loads, and may set its own cookies, when you choose to open it.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not stop the website from working.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers above, with professionals you ask us to work alongside (for example your accountant or lawyer), or where the law requires it. Client information is never used in marketing without written permission.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, and we use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect it. Some of our providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.

Your rights

You may ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent, or ask a question about this policy at any time. Write to bhavin@mylegacymatters.ca or call 416-301-8846. We respond to requests within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Privacy officer

Our privacy officer is accountable for how Legacy Matters handles personal information and for this policy.
